Was meant to be a full can but since 2020 i found a lot of canned goods are no longer benefiting from quality control, sometimes only half filled, others its a few pieces of actual food and mostly water. In this case it was more water than anything else but just shy of half a can of spinach. Was the last can in my pantry.
Pie crust expired in January of 2023, the spinach expired January 2026. The eggs came from my chickens in late October and have sat on a shelf in the pantry since then. The cheese i got in town 2 weeks ago on my monthly ride into town.
Quishe is horrible as left overs so i am eating it all at once, roughly 1600 calories. This evening i will have some shitty lighter calorie thing too.

The camera is shitty aswell 😭
Not bad for making due. Looks like it could have used a little longer though
Bro what year are you living in
Smells like farts. Not sure if it’s the spinach or the Dutch oven.
Did you take these photos on your Nintendo ds?
Solid meal, that’ll keep you full for a bit! Hell yeah

This is OP’s elephant’s foot
I always applaud your efforts, but how TF did this turn purple?
Why is it purple?
I’m confused, you used all the usual ingredients for a quiche, so why does it look so… not quiche? It looks more like what I’d imagjne a quiche made with only egg whites would look. What are the pale orange lumps? Is that the cheese? Was it not grated & fully incorporated into your eggs?
I understand you baked it in a Dutch oven, so I understood why the crust isn’t browned, but I’d still imagine the egg would look it’s usual yellow?
I’ve been checking in on your posts over the past week or so. I also have PTSD, thankfully mine isn’t currently active. I’d absolutely love to live in a cabin away from the world, surrounded by woodland (I grew up on the edge of a nature reserve but in a modern house with neighbours) but I know I wouldn’t have your fortitude. I’d miss all my modern comforts too much. I’d be happy for weekend visits but other than that I’d wimp out. I’m enjoying reading your comments sharing your experiences.
That’s actually pretty smart. Quiche always seemed kind of difficult but I might actually try this.
I actually grew up kind of similar to how you’re living. Dirt poor chicken farm in rural West Virginia. Yeah, we had electricity but we were so far out that of the power went out due to snow or storms or something we lived off of wood stove. We canned our own food from our garden and that and hunting usually got us through winter. I remember a big blizzard we got in 1996 though, almost three weeks without power. It got so cold the jars in our your cellar froze and burst. That was rough.
How did you find food from a German prison in the ’70s? Richard Nixon’s wife took the first bite.
I was going to correct your spelling, but seeing the pic it really is quishe
It may not be the best picture, but I don’t think this is shitty food.
The food doesn’t sound too bad. The quality of the photos is awful.
My MIL used to do a quiche sort of thing with bisquick mix that would look similar, with less of a defined crust, and it was GOOOOOD (same other ingredients). Highly recommend, would totally be Dutch oven friendly.
I thought this was a blueberry lemon cheesecake/pie
The crust could have stayed a little longer in the oven.

The photo quality looks like your quiche is in a documentary where it got murdered
Why does this look like blueberry pie?
Knowing what I know about how you live, I have to say this looks pretty good. Seems like most are pretty ignorant to your way of life but I applaud it good sir. Keep it up with the posts love seeing your stuff
